Hutton RUFC was founded in July 2007 by 31 people. The founders members recognized that there wasn’t a Rugby Club in Hutton and as some of the new members were formally at Hutton school or lived in the area it was decided that Hutton would be an ideal location to form the new club. In September 2007 Hutton RUFC was officially accepted into the Lancashire RFU and although this season the teams have been unable to play in an established league they set out to arrange as many non league games within Lancashire, Cumbria and Manchester. Throughout the season Hutton RUFC has been well received by fellow clubs and welcomed as a valuable new addition to any forthcoming league and we have had confirmation that Hutton 1st team will be playing in North Lancashire Division Twoin 08/09.Hutton 2nd team will be playing in Millers Home League. The club is currently playing home games at Kingswood College in Scarisbrick, Southport, where a pitch and post have been donated to Hutton and for the use of the school, however plans are currently underway for the club to have their very own site within Hutton for the coming 08/09 season. The club is currently run by volunteers and has a player base of 60 which has enabled Hutton to field 2 teams on a regular basis.
